Opportunity: Join the Open Journals Collective as a publishing partner (deadline May 15th)

Hi everyone,

Sharing an interesting opportunity that just came across my desk: the Open Journals Collective (OJC) has officially opened applications for new publishing partners.

If you aren’t familiar with them, the OJC works with non-profit organisations and platforms that support community-led Diamond OA. It’s a great chance to get involved in a shared governance model and help strengthen the collective voice for sustainable publishing.

Why consider joining?

  • Greater influence: Be part of a unified voice that carries more weight in the publishing landscape than acting alone.
  • Commitment to Diamond OA: Directly contribute to building more equitable and sustainable publishing models.
  • Strategic positioning: As an established partner, you’ll be perfectly placed to bring your Diamond OA journals into OJC collections during future intake rounds.

A few quick things to keep in mind:

  • Who it’s for: This call is specifically for publishing organisations.
  • Note for journals: If you are an individual journal, this specific round isn’t for you just yet, but keep an eye out, as they’ll be opening up applications for journals to join their collections later on.
  • The deadline: Get your application in by 23:59 BST on Friday 15th May.

You can check out the application questions in this PDF preview to see what’s involved.

If you have any questions, you can reach out to them directly at info@openjournalscollective.org.
