Round of applications for scholar-led Diamond Open Access journals for 2028
OLEcon (Open Library Economics), an initiative of the ZBW - Leibniz Information Centre for Economics, is opening a new round of applications for funding support aimed at journals in economics and business studies that operate, or wish to transition to, a non-commercial Diamond Open Access model.
The funding is provided through a consortium of libraries and is intended to help journals establish a sustainable alternative funding model.
Eligibility criteria
Journals must:
- relate to business, economics, or related disciplines, and publish research findings in these areas;
- be aimed primarily at the academic research community;
- publish research from a range of national and/or international institutions;
- meet basic scholarly quality standards, including peer review;
- be, or intend to become, scholar-led.
Editors may apply if their journal:
- is currently Open Access and seeking a sustainable business model;
- currently uses a subscription model and wants to transition to Open Access;
- is a new journal planning to launch as Open Access.
