How to add an event to the Forum calendar

Want to share a webinar, workshop, or conference with the Diamond OA community? You can easily do so via our shared Upcoming Events calendar! Here’s how:

Step 1: Create a new topic

Click on + New Topic, and select the category General > Event (event, subcategory of General).

Use a clear and descriptive title. for example: “Diamond OA Webinar – 15 July 2025”

In the post, feel free to include the key information (optional):

  • Short description of the event
  • Date and time
  • Registration or meeting link (Zoom, etc.)
  • Contact or organiser details

Step 2: Add the event to the calendar

Click on the :plus: icon above your text post:

  • Select “Create event”
  • Fill in the event details (title, date, time, timezone, link, etc.)

That’s it! Your event will now:

Top tip. When adding the event, make the location is a URL rather than text!

Indeed! There are two ways to do it:

  • If it’s a physical event, you can add the venue in the “Location” field, and include any registration link in the “Description” field.
  • If it’s an online event, feel free to paste the registration or meeting link directly in the “Location” field!
