CHORUS Forum: Accessibility – How is it going?

23 March 2026 – Free online meeting
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT
#CHORUSForum

The concept of accessibility in scholarly publishing often refers to open access models. However, ensuring the content is created with universal design principles to include readers using assistive technologies has become an increasingly important aspect of the accessibility conversation. In light of the enactment of the European Accessibility Act and the approaching deadline under the updated Americans with Disabilities Act, both addressing digital accessibility, we will examine the current landscape. The panel will discuss this policy and regulatory pressures, coordinated and collaborative efforts, and tooling and formats from both the library and publisher perspective.
