I discovered the community few months ago (after coming across https://github.com/singlesourcepub/). I wrote an article about the single source publishing principles in 2023 (https://doi.org/10.16995/dscn.9655), after a communication during a digital humanities event (https://ssp.digitaltextualities.ca). I did my PhD at the Canada Research Chair on Digital Textualites (Université de Montréal), with other colleagues (Marcello Vitali-Rosati, Margot Mellet, Nicolas Sauret, Servanne Monjour, Louis-Olivier Brassard, etc.) we’ve experimented a lot (essentially in academic publishing with journals in humanities), and build some tools. Now this lab continues the experiments, in collaboration with the Université de Rouen Normandie. Here some examples about tools that implement the single source publishing principles:
I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have about that. And I’ll try to come the September 23. Thanks for the people behind this community, it’s nice to read some initiatives about single source publishing!
Hi Antoine, thanks for reaching out! I’m sure @tarleb will be thrilled to hear we have another Single Source Publishing community follower on board!
We’re actually looking for new tools to feature in our Tools Spotlight, if you’re interested in writing a short post to introduce one of them, let me know, I’d love to collaborate! These sound like really interesting features (I knew about Stylo, but the other two were new to me, so thanks for sharing!)
Merci pour votre message[1], many thanks for reaching out! Just as Marion said, I’m indeed thrilled by this and I’m currently reading through the links. Exciting things!
I see that Stylo is free and open source software, so it would qualify to to be featured in one of our meetups, if you are interested in that. (As a side note: I’m particularly glad to see pandoc being part of the conversion tool-chain, as I spent a good bit of effort on improving that converter.)
I’d love to learn and talk more, maybe we could set up a short call sometime within the next weeks? Please feel free to contact @ronste and me directly.
Malheureusement, je ne connais que quelques mots de français; mais je continue à apprendre. ↩︎
Good to know! And great to have the opportunity to speak with a major contributor to Pandoc (thanks for your work! I confirm that you improve it!). I’ll talk with few colleagues and get back to you (and Ronald).
