Towards open evaluation: rethinking peer review in the context of open science

The Pôle Revues of the Circé Network has released a new Report on Open Peer Review (Rapport sur l’évaluation ouverte).

Based on a literature review and a survey of scholarly journals in Canada and Québec, the report maps current evaluation practices and gathers the community’s perceptions on shifting toward more open peer review models.

The report was launched on 14 May 2026 at the Acfas Congress. It was authored by Alexandra Michaud, Adrien Savard-Arseneault, Lucía Céspedes, and Arilys Jia, under the scientific direction of René Audet, with the support of Vincent Larivière and Anne-Marie Fortier.
