On 01 December 2026, 14:00–15:00 p.m. (CET) our guests are: Katarina Perić (National Library of Serbia) and Milica Ševkušić (Institute of Technical Sciences of SASA & EIFL):
Community-Led Support for Diamond Open Access in Serbia
Abstract:
More than 400 open access journals are published in Serbia and most have traditionally operated without fees for authors or readers. They are sustained by a strong community of libraries, research organizations, and scholarly societies, supported by volunteer work, institutional backing, and, for some journals, public subsidies.
This session will present the Centre’s work to enhance collaboration, align journals with the Diamond OA Standard, and support sustainable, community-owned scholarly communication. Participants will hear practical experience on community building and crowdsourcing, along with advice on launching and implementing activities with limited resources.
