CHORUS Forum on Trust and Integrity: Threats and Opportunities
Wednesday, 8 April 2026 from 11:00am – 12:00pm EDT
Trust is the foundation of social, economic, and political systems. When people trust information, institutions, and technologies, coordination is possible. When trust erodes, misinformation, polarization, and instability grow. While threats are growing—especially from competitive pressures and emerging technologies—there are strong opportunities to reinforce integrity through education, open science, ethical leadership, and responsible innovation. Having policies and guidelines that support the research and scholarly publishing ecosystem helps protect trust in science. Speakers will address how we as a community can address these threats and opportunities through policies, guidelines and technology.
Moderator: Scott Delman, Director of Publications at the Association for Computing Machinery
Speakers:
· Jigisha Patel, Independent Research Integrity Specialist
· Joris van Rossum, Program Director, STM Solutions
