Hi all, in case you haven’t seen or read it yet, I want to share the new blog series currently running over at the Open Access Book Network (OABN). It is called Born Open, and it asks some very important questions about our publishing world: What does “prestige” really mean in scholarly book publishing, and who gets to define it?
The Born Open series shines a spotlight on these born open access presses and explores their role in changing how we think about quality and impact. It is a great read if you are curious about who they are, what motivates them, and the real obstacles they face in the current academic system.
Get involved!
If you are a born OA publisher and would like to contribute your own story to this blog series, feel free to send an email to info@oabooksnetwork.org to express your interest. The OABN team is especially keen to hear from presses of different sizes, disciplines, and geographical contexts.
