Dear all,
One of our Diamond editors has initiated the Diamond Reviewer Pledge which invites researchers to strengthen community-led scholarly publishing by committing to review at least one article for a diamond open-access journal within the next 12 months. I was wondering if you’d be willing to share this with your network — a newsletter mention, a social post, or just forwarding to a few colleagues who might want to sign. It would be very much appreciated. Below some additional information which can be of use. FYI: they are also working on having a Diamond OA reviewer database. Once I know more I will let you know.
We are launching the Diamond Reviewer Pledge initiative during Peer Review Week (Sept 14–18) which this year is themed around capacity: how the research community can deal with rising submissions and a reviewer pool under pressure. The pledge is one small, concrete way for researchers to be intentional about where they send their reviewing capacity.
Peer review is a finite resource, and every review invitation presents a choice about where our time goes. The Diamond Reviewer Pledge asks researchers to commit to reviewing at least one article a year for a diamond open access journal — free to publish, free to read, and run by the scholarly community. It takes a minute to sign and helps sustain the journals that keep research open to everyone. Learn more and join: Diamond Reviewer Pledge
- The signatories can sign the pledge here, display the Diamond Reviewer Badge (attached) on your website, CV, slides, or email signature.
- Encourage other researchers within thier field to sign the pledge. So please spread it around, including the attached materials.
- Click “Enlist me in a future reviewer database for diamond OA journals.” This way, other Diamond OA journals can find you and invite you to review!
